About Us

The institute is affiliated with Indian nursing council, Gujarat nursing council and hemchandracharya north Gujarat University Patan. The following courses are run under the Mahavir institute of nursing

  • Mahavir College of nursing GNM Course is started in the year 2008 with the student intake of 40. In the year 2010 student intake was enhanced to 50. Total 13 batches is pass out of GNM. Mahavir institute of nursing started with the help of donor In the year 2010 Institute launched new program Post basic B.Sc. nursing with the student intake of 30.
  • In the year 2012 auxillary nurse midwife (ANM) was started with 40 seats.
  • in the year 2014 Basic B.Sc. nursing course started with intake of 30. In the year 2022 student intake was enhanced to 60 seats.
  • In the year 2020 M.Sc. Nursing was started with 25 seats in 4 specialties (Medical surgical nursing, Child health nursing, Obstetrics and gynecology nursing and Community health nursing)
  • The Nursing institute is attached to a 312 bedded Parent Hospital for developing skills in delivery of health care services. Planning and implementation of the program is facilitated by experienced teaching faculty. The program encompasses classroom teaching, a supervised clinical practice, Community programs, attitude & value building having a multidimensional approach.
  • The Trust campus is spread over an area of around 42 acres and having a prolific & state of the art infrastructure and trust also have 43HC-90RA-87CM  land available for the better expansion of institute. Institute is showering and enlightening a huge mass of students from different cultures and serving the humanity by providing education to them under one roof. Under its flagship Institute is continuing to provide education in Nursing.

The college have the best of the facilities to impart theoretical & practical knowledge. With the support of a well-equipped parental hospital the students get the chance to implement their theoretical knowledge into practice.
The College is a pioneer institute in the field of Nursing education offering ANM, GNM, B.Sc. (Nursing), P. B. B.Sc. (Nursing) and M.Sc. (Nursing) programmes. The college is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council New Delhi, Gujarat Nursing Council, Govt. of Gujarat and affiliated to HNGU, Patan.
At Mahavir Institute of Nursing, it is not only the theoretical and practical knowledge that is being taught but also the ethical knowledge is imparted to the students. Nursing involves the care of people throughout the continuum of life and provides an essential service to humankind. There are many positive aspects of being a nurse. There is nothing more rewarding than a patient giving thanks and telling you how much you have helped them.
Also, there are so many opportunities and career paths that are available for Nurses. Nursing offers opportunities from bedside practice to the top administrator of a healthcare organization. Clinical specialist, nurse practitioner, nurse administrator and nurse educator are just a few examples of the variety of opportunities awaiting you in a nursing career. Nurses are also appointed and elected to influential government positions.

Nursing is a unique profession and global development has tremendous impact on the health care sector. There is a great need for efficient and trained nurses in the society. Nurses will be a super factor to implement their knowledge in to practice; this practice will lead to an evolution of a peaceful, commitment, responsibility, hard work and efficiency.

Nursing is one of the oldest professions. It is said the first mother is the first nurse. Nursing has grown form mother’s caring of family member’s health status till today’s Professional Nurse who gets educated at the institutions of higher education of nursing and practices in varied health care settings at Inter – National, National, State and Local Levels.

A nurse needs to compete in today’s health care world of scientific excellence; advancement and precision. We believe that a graduate nurse of this college will not only take up leadership role at health care setting but also get involved in ongoing research activities to update his / her knowledge to put in practice.

At Mahavir Institute of Nursing, the students will find rich academic and clinical ambiance to facilitate their learning which in return will stimulate the fulfilment of their academic and future goals.
